Valentines Day

Valentine's Day, this is by far the lamest "holiday" that was ever created. Here are some reasons that this holiday irritates me. Feel free to add to the list if you can think of others.

This day was created by the greeting card industry, for the greeting card industry. This wasn't the creation of some love struck soul who thought that a holiday promoting love would better mankind. The only thing that is pure about this holiday is that it is purly profit drivin.

This day totally waters down what romance is supposed to be. It lets 99% of men be romantic 1 time a year and 99% of the woman think there man is great because once a year he buys her flowers or candy. Gimme a break! It reminds me of gas prices. Gas was 99 cents a gallon forever and it shot up to 3.50 a gallon for awhile and now when we see it for 2.25 we think what a great deal. Gas is still about a dollar highr then it should be but we have been condtioned to think 2.25 is a deal. So what I am saying is woman have been conditioned to think this is acceptable, and it's not. I don't expect men to bring flowers and candy and back and footrubs everyday they come home from work. Just like men shouldn't expect that their girl is going to be down for sex every night when she comes home from her job..(some of us have it that way but we are the lucky ones...enough about Lass)

If it was up to me I wouldn't celebrate this holiday because, I hate being told what to do by the establishment. Unfortunatly, I would be in deep shit with Lass if I didn't. So I will go through the motions of this "holiday" because it makes my girl feel good and I guess thats what makes it worth doing. But..I do it under protest. not because I don't love her,  because I do. I hate that all the things I love to do for her throughout the time we are together, all of the body rubs and romantic dinners..etc would be  for naught if I blew off V-day. I would be this big A-hole and the guy down the street who treats his wife like she is his dog, but buys her a 4 dollar box of chocolates and the last card on the valentine's day rack is some great Casanova.

I guess that is all I am going to say on it, except that I want Lass to know I love her, and I love doing the things to and for her that make her happy. The love she has givin me in the short time we have been together makes everyday feel like Valentines day. I love you babe and because I do, I will buy you the 4 dollar box of chocolates and the last card on the rack, but I would much rather celebrate our love everyday and not feed the profit driven holiday that is Valentine's day.

edit: I know I am a week early on my post. I average 1 a month..sorry bout that...lol

Lass is in the hospital

This last weekend started out really well. We gathered up out brood of children (2 for Lass and 3 for me)  and went to my place for a weekend of fun, My Eldest son has Winter formal and his best friend was taking Lass' Daughter to it. So we chaperoned the 2 couples to the Olive Garden and almost had a real date. The kids finished at their table 1st so out Cell phones started to ring and they want ed to get to the dance.

We take them to the dance and drop them off. There was a little bit of tension between my son and his date. (here is a little bit of history) At last years Prom, the 2 of them went and had a great time during dinner and pictures. At the dance she "ditched" my son and hung out with her friends and left him twisting in the wind all night.) Well against my advice he invited this same little hooker to winter formal and guess what? same thing. She wanted to drag my son around and hang out with her friends and ignore his best friend and Lass' daughter (C). So insead of becoming an angst ridden teen, my son found a Girl that had come by her self and proceeded to dance the night away with her, to the dismay of his "date". So by the end of the evening C and my sons best friend had, had a great time getting to know each other better and my son had unintentionally gotten revenge for Prom last year.(pay backs a bitch.) anyway to the subjuct of the post...

Lass had been feeling down with what we thought was a cold since friday. we hung out all day on saturday and saturday night did the dance thing. Sunday morning was a train wreck. Lass was so sick and achy that she stayed in her PJ's all day in bed trying to get better before Monday. To her credit, on the times she was feeling better( and it was a roller coaster all day) She would get frisky and want to play..not being one to disapoint a lady, I went along with her protesting the whole way how she was sick and we shouldn't...yeah right...lol. anyway. she stayed in bed all day and all night.

She had called the kids father to come get them to take them to school on monday and he refused saying "it just didn't work for him" I know...what an ass. So the kids took the day off from school and my 17 yr old thought it such a good idea he did the same. My other 2 boys went home to their mom's the night before so they were going to get to go to school. Ok, back to the story...I get home from work,,there is my 17 yr old in the same cloths he had on the day before in the same position on the same couch playing the same video game he was playing the night before when I went to bed. Lass' son "T" was in the same state doiong the same thing. C on the other hand was on the PC playing on MYSPACE, maybe in the same clothes but somehow she pulls it off where the boys just look like slobs. I go into the bedroom and Lass is still there, her fever has gottten worse and she is achy all over. I know she feels bad when she refuse my amorous advances (<~just kidding)

I take her to the emergancy room where they admit her and take some tests. They aske her all the questions and she goes into all the details of all her medical history. I don't know how much y'all know about it but it was more then 1 person should have to go through. (on top of that, the hospital asked her the same battery of questions 2 more times) so the take urine and blood and the DR want s to hydrate her so she gets an IV with vitamins and saline to replenish her body. They take chest x-rays and what we thought was the flu was pnemonia. They admitted her into the hospital I stayed with her till about 9 pm. After I left they gave her a cat scan and a few more pokes and prods before giveing her a sandwich and letting her get some sleep.

We don't know how long she is going to be in the hospital. I may be able to get her today and bring her home. or she may spend 1 more night there.

Here is something interesting, as many of ytou know, Lass lives with her ex boyfriend. He has made it a point not to meet me cause he has issues with lass dating someone else. But her was willing to meet me at my work at 5am to insure that the kids got to school in time for "C" to get to swim practice. He is also going to pick them up and bring them home tonight.  He has had a few occasions to meet me where we were in the same room together and refused to acknowlege my existance, which I though twas pretty lame and immature. (and believe me, when I think you are being immature, most likely you are being down rite infantile, cause I have never been one to call the kettle black) anyway...he has redeemed him self in my eyes a little. Not that it matters to him I am sure. But anyway I don't mind giving credit where it is due. So he had to meet me face to face this morning and shke my hand and even talk to me on the phone a couple times..lol. So now I am real and maybe he won't be such an ass about things over the next couple of months.

I will keep you guys updated and if you wouldn't mind posting a link to this page or copy and paste it yours that would be great. I know only a couple of you read my blather as infrequent as it is. Thanks.

PS Sorry about all the filler but if you are going to take the the time to read my blah blah, I thought I would try to make it entertaining.

Last night

Last night I was invited over to Lass' house for the 1st time. She has a really nice condo and it was nice to finally see it. We "communicated" about the post that she left, and we worked things out. Lass and I had a wonderful evening together and the 3 hours of sleep I got was well worth the time we spent "communicating"...If you know what I mean.

Anywho, It was a really fantastic evening, that started out horribly. I was doing last min Christmas shopping and not being very successful at it. Lass rescued me from that experience with the invitation to come over. I hadn't seen her or her kids in a few days, so it was nice to see them. I got to meet her cats. They were very well behaved...lol. The night  ended in fantastic fashion and this morning I am totally exhausted but am typing with a smile on my face. I think I will try to initiate more "communication"...lol

What is the strangest memory you have from early childhood?: I can't remember any :strange" memories                                                                                            What was the most "grown-up" thing you ever said as a child?: I don't say grown up things as an adult, I can't imagine I said anything as a child.
What were your favorite TV shows in early childhood?: Sat morning cartoon like the Scooby doo,  Hot wheels, speed Racer  Kimba the white lion (All these are dating me really bad )                                                                                                                                                            Were you afraid of monsters?: Hell yes! Me and my best friend would spint to each others house after Dark (we lived 2 doors down. We would communicate with walkie talkies so the other would be at the door to open it  and close it quickly as to keep the monsters at bay. We stopped doing this when we got our drvers license at 16...then we drove really fast those same 2 houses.
Did you believe that fictional characters were real?:  Yes, I think a lot of fiction is based on reality.

What television news coverage do you detest the most?:  I hate the left wing  media. they cover what eveer is on their agenda. they distort the truth or just downright lie for their own purpose. I have a friend in Iraq who is a civilian and he tells me how 80% of th Iraq's love us and appreciate the schools were building to educate all their children, not just the makes. About how we are improving their infrastructure so when we do pull out they will be able to survive without us. all you hear about is the deaths of our troops. It's tragic and it's wrong.

I really don't know where the smart as gene came from, but I got it. oh and I got both of there tempers. Normally it is my Dads when i lose it...but if I really melt down, it is my mama's"seeing nothing but red" temper. that's only happened a couple times in my life. that's why I don't hold stuff in...you wouldn't like me when I'm really angry.                                                                                                                                           Which traits are you pissed off you inherited from them?: My weight  from my mom. Have you ever stopped speaking to someone in your family?: yep, in one of the 2 melt downs that I talked about. My older brothers wife was the recepiant of the most colorful shout down of my life. filled with words I don't usually use, even when females are not around, Of couse this happened in front of my Mom, but after that my brother and I didn't speak for a year...I still can't stand her.                                                                           Is your family very much like you or are you opposites?: we are all unique

Final Questions

How long have you been on xanga?: 2 weeks?.
Do you find it to be a fulfilling experience?: it's like myspace (which I have) for adults. fulfilling would be a strong word..mildly entertaining would be closer to the how I feel about it.

Had a great weekend..Stoopid monday had to ruin it.

My weekend started out on friday (just like most peoples), I picked up my 10 and 8 yr old and went to a wrestling tournament for my 17yr old. It started out great as my son won his first 3 matches of the day (2 by pinfall and the other 18-0), This made me especially proud as my son weighs 140LBS and was going against guys in the 152lbs weight class. He ended his day losing to the last 2 guys he faced. One of them was the eventual winner of the tournament.he lost 5-0.  The other loss was a hard fought battle  that went to the very end. My son lost 7-6, but those 2 boys were totally and complexly spent by the end of the match. It would of only been better had MY son won. that was the 1st day.

We were supposed to be at the school at 6am the following morning. So we got up at 6:30 and stumbled and bumbled our way to the 2nd day of the tournament. This day started out bad. Our team lost every match..we were shut out. It could have been the combination of inexperience and the huge pancake breakfast they fed the boys for breakfast. This team was really good and eventually won the whole thing. MY son was out pointed 6-3. Then came the next match. The unthinkable happened. My son got pinned for the 1st time in nearly 2 yrs. He was so pissed he was crying. In my sons defense (I'm allowed) It was a ridiculously fast call. I mean the other wrestler barely rolled him up. My son's shoulders were not even on the mat and the guy called the pin. As I watched he did it again and again. (I kept an eye on him during other matches and he was doing the same thing. My conclusion is that he had something else to do. His matches took about 1/2 the time the other matches did.)

so after starting 3-0 and feeling cocky, my son had dropped 4 in a row. then a miracle happened. Moonlit-Lass finally shows up with T&C. She has a little chat with my Son (a little hand holding, a little transfer of energy) My son go's out and wins his next 3 matches by Pin fall. It was really exciting. He didn't Medal but he sure held is own. I think he could have beat the boy that pinned him if any other ref had been there. but "if, if and buts, were candy and nuts we would all have a merry christmas". all in all it was a great experience.

Lass and her kids came over and we all hung out for awhile. Then we all went to this place in Long Beach CA, and strolled through this upscale neighborhood , that is set up like Venice, Italy. It has canals going through it and they decorate the houses beautifully. We brought 2 other friends with us. So it was Lass and I and 7 fricken kids...lol. She made us hot chocolate and we walked up and down the canals looking at these houses. It started to rain so we cut it short, but it was a wonderful time. We went home and everyone spent the night at my gigantic APT. (800sqft)

The next day we all just vegitated watched moves played video games and then the 2nd miricle of the weekend happened. Lass actually cooked...OMG!! She will probably try to play it off like it didn't happen, but I was there. I actually witnessed her putting not one, but two Hamburger  Patties on the george foreman grill and actually closed it..Iii Know! She also sliced up tomatoes and lettace for the burgers. Don't tell her that her secret is out. She'll be mad at me.

I'll let her tell you about the rattling door. And her son pointing it out. Anyway I hope you all had an equally enjoyable weekend.
